Eelkat says: It’s so hard to pick just three! I am so passionate about every topic I create a lens for! Here are my choices though:

#1) Lord Sesshomaru Costume

With over 20,000 words written for this one, you can tell this really tops the ranks as the lens I put the most time and energy into. This is my “monster” lens, cause it just keeps growing and growing as I find new things to add to it every week. It’s me and CosPlay and historical reenactment gone mega wild.

#2 Publishing Methods

One of my very first lenses, this lens made it to #32 and stayed on The Top 100 List for a little over a month. This lens took well over three months to write the long articles for. Basically a an info lens for self-publishers.

#3) Ekography

My personal lensography, and yet another monster sized lens; this one not only links back to all of my 200 lenses, but also serves as my personal biography/profile lens as well. Anyone who want to get to know me better would do good to stop here first.

featured lens Ekography: EelKat’s Lensography
I joined Squidoo in April of 2007. At the time of Ekography’s last edit I had 313 lenses and 23 groups. I make new ones all the time, so watch for new ones to be added as time goes by. This is my index for them all. Ekography is eternally under…

Need help creating a Lord Sesshomaru costume? You’ve come to the right place. I am currently in the process of making a Lord Sesshomaru costume. No idea when I will get it finished or how long it will take, but as I make it, I’ll add updates here, an…

The Real Secret to Squidoo Success

With two weeks to go before the next wave gets inducted, the Giant Squid Hopefuls are busy tidying up and polishing their 50 fabulous lenses.  I thought I’d help them out by featuring one of the most helpful and inspirational Squidoo lenses I’ve ever seen, EelKat’s Secrets to Squidoo Success .

At  EelKat’s Secrets to Squidoo Success Giant lensmaster EelKat  shares her tips, tricks, ideas, and suggestions for making truly spectacular lenses.  She discusses different ways to earn money with your Squidoo lenses and how to get more traffic to your lenses.  She shares her lens promotion ideas.  She explains what it takes to make your lenses stand out from the crowd and ways to find great ideas for making more lenses.  She shares her best lensmaking resources and ways to encourage reader interaction.  She also goes into detail about the importance of leaving and receiving good guestbook comments and why you should help promote your fellow lensmaster’s lenses.

The lens reads like an interview and contains huge amounts of really good lens building advice in addition to a most inspiring story.  You see, although you’d never know it from reading her work, Eelkat happens to have a slight disadvantage when it comes to making her lenses.  At EelKat’s Secrets to Squidoo Success she reveals her lens building obstacle and the way she overcomes it.

Whether you suffer the same problem, or have a difficulty of your own, I know you will find her story totally inspiring and come away with the knowledge that if she can do it (and do it so well) so can you!

My best tip for Squidoo lensmaking success is to visit this awesome lens and to encourage every lensmaster you know to do the same.   Squidoo.com’s reputation grows with each quality lens that is built.  The more Giant lensmasters we encourage, mentor, and nominate, the better for Squidoo as a whole.

In other words, I think the real secret to Squidoo success is the way the lensmasters work so hard to help each other build really good quality lenses.  As Giants we need to lead the way and lend a hand because when any Squidoo lens comes up as an authority page in the search engines, we all win!

Please Note:  It’s not to late to nominate a potential Giant Squid lensmaster.  If you know of anyone deserving please send us a note about them to Giants (at) Squidoo.com.  If that deserving lensmaster happens to be you, send us a link to your bio page at Wannbeagiant (at) Squidoo.com
