Here’s why:
This lens talks about a program called In2Books where adult mentors are matched up with student pen pals in grades 3-5. It is a wonderful opportunity to make a difference in the life of a child.
I first became involved in In2Books last school year when I ran across their site through the Volunteer Match program. In this program you read 5 books that the child has been reading throughout the school year and then you exchange letters with the child to encourage them in their reading and comprehension of the book. A wonderful program with less time commitment than it takes to write a lens and big potential rewards for the child and for you.
This year I am putting journal entries on my lens so that readers can follow my experience with my ePal. My goal is to encourage others to become part of this program. ~mbgphoto
