How Far Can a Single Lens Take You?

johannlmf3db1cf2aa7148473580c7d334dd6617_1216146562avatar_120x120Giant Squid lensmaster JohannTheDog sent me a note this morning and the news it contained is so exciting that I requested permission to share it with all of you!

“Hi Robin – I wanted to let you know about something we are super excited about.

Back in September 07 I created a lens called Raise a Green Dog because I was
receiving a lot of questions about our green life.

Because of the response I received from the lens, in November 2007 I decided to
create a blog, which became very popular, and was featured in Dog Fancy, Dog
World and Pet Style News magazines in the past year or so.

Just last week we expanded the blog into a full website, with tips, tricks,
information and a complete online green dog product portal to share even more
information and green products for aspiring green dog lovers (and dogs too :) .

I wanted to let you know an example of how far a lens can take you. I know you
know this, but thought others may have an interest in the story as well. You can
see the full site here: Raise a Green Dog , and here’s a link to the
press release announcing the new site: http://pitch.pe/13974

Congratulations! I’m so glad that more and more are going green, including dogs. I’d love to see more availability for cats going green! It can happen, I’m sure.

It just goes to show that if you find a great niche, run with it. Testing the waters with Squidoo is great, but if you can move your ideas to your own site it’s even better.

    Congrats Johann

Amazing story! Thanks for inspiring us with it!

  6. Wow! Good job Johann and thanks Giant Squid Showcase for sharing this awesome story!

I am a new Giant (I “got big” in the last batch) and I am finally finding more time to delve into the depths where the Giants hang out. I hope to visit many of you and I will go see a few of JohannTheDog’s sites today.

    Inspiring! Congrats!
