Spotlight On Azareal
Today the spotlight shines brightly on new Giant Squid lensmaster Azareal.
Azareal aka Dr. Anne Helmenstine, is a scientist, author, and mom. She makes some really cool Science Fair lenses. Today she shares some great lenscrafting tips with us.
How to Grow Crystals was one of my first lenses, maybe even the very first lens. I picked the topic because it was something I knew, but also because the lens is helpful to me. I use it to keep track of crystal recipes and ideas. Writing and maintaining this lens has helped me to see holes in my coverage so that I can fill them in over time. This lens taught me that most lenses are works-in-progress. The evolution of lenses is one of the most incredible aspects of Squidoo, don’t you think?
My Best Lens Creation Tip:
Just do it! The task of creating a really good lens can seem overwhelming. If you have a lens idea, go ahead and publish the bare bones of the lens, then go back and improve it over time. You don’t have to do everything at once.
My Best Money-Making Tip:
If you’re a lensmaster reading this tip, you’ve probably figured this out: Link to products that you would buy if you were visiting your own lens. For my jewelry making lenses , the links go to materials you need in order to create the project or books of patterns that allow you to most beyond the lens. For science projects, the links go to kits you can buy that relate to the projects.
