As you may already know Giant Squid Lensmaster awelldressedbullet won the Big Orange Recipe Contest with her Creamed Salmon on Toast lens. (If you haven’t already, please do stop by to congratulate her!) 

I wanted to report that this was a very diffult contest to judge because each of the lenses submitted were awesome and definitely Giant Squid quality recipe lenses.

Let’s take a look at the winning lens to see what makes a Giant Squid recipe lens so great.

On her lens, Creamed Salmon on Toast,  awelldressedbullet not only shares an easy to follow, great home made recipe but she also shares a very personal story about the recipe that draws the reader into the lens and makes them want to read more. 

She makes good use of photographs and shares helpful tips that make her recipe even easier to prepare and follow.

She’s included a poll and a guestbook to encourage interaction between her recipe lens and her audience. 

AND the lens makes you hungry! 

All in all her Creamed Salmon on Toast lens design is top notch.  The only suggestion I could add to help anyone following this plan would be to also include a link list or a plexo module that includes links to other similar recipes.
